Helen Jane (Gallaher) Baney, daughter of the late Victor E. and Grace Pearl (Craig) Gallaher, was born on June 20, 1921 in Pueblo, Colorado, and departed this life on August 15, 2016 in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 95 years, 1 month, and 26 days of age.
Helen grew up in Boone, Colorado and graduated high school in Booneville, Missouri. She was a registered nurse and had attended college and received her associates degree. In 1944, she was united in marriage to Clarence Lee Spillman in Marshall, Missouri. One son was born to this union. Mr. Spillman passed away in 1960. In 1968, Helen was united in marriage to Hansard R. Baney. Mr. Baney passed away in 1992.
Helen enjoyed crocheting, quilting, reading, and gardening. She had a pleasant smile, a kind heart, and loved visiting with anyone she met. Helen had been a resident of Mountain Grove since 1980. She will be dearly missed.
Helen is survived by her son: Charles Spillman and wife, Nancy, of Ft. Collins, Colorado; one grandson: David Spillman and wife, Daphne, of Loveland, Colorado; one granddaughter: Jennifer Spillman of Longmont, Colorado; and three great-grandchildren: Isabelle Spillman, Brielle Spillman, and Oliver Crapo.
