Hazel Irene Fox

Hazel Irene Fox, daughter of the late Elza Ray Hutsell Sr. and Mattie Viola (Venable) Hutsell, was born on October 12, 1923 in Graff, Missouri and departed this life on Thursday, April 8, 2010 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri following a long illness. She was 86 years, 5 months and 26 days of age.
Hazel grew up in the Graff Community and attended the Crewse School. She was united in marriage to William F. Waggle in 1941. Two sons and one daughter were born to this union.
Hazel lived many years in Gary, Indiana where she cleaned windshields and was a push press operator.
While living in the Mtn. Grove area, she owned and operated the “Dew Drop Inn” located off the square in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s.
She later married Charles Fox in 1969. In her earlier years, Hazel enjoyed fishing. She also enjoyed being outdoors tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. She liked playing card games, watching game shows on T.V. and playing Bingo at the VFW Hall near Mtn., Grove.
Besides parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: William Waggle on February 26, 2003; her second husband: Charles “Chuck” Fox on April 20, 1999; one son: James M. Waggle; one brother: Elza Ray Hutsell, Jr.; one sister: Maree Cole; two grandsons: Madison Waggle and Eldon Blacketer, Jr.; and by a granddaughter: Debra Blacketer.
She is survived by her daughter: Sandra Mears of Mtn. Grove; her son: Jerry Waggle and his wife, Paulette, also of Mtn. Grove; a step-son: Billy Waggle of the State of Indiana; two step-daughters: Cheryl Neff of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Pam Patterson of Hobart, Indiana; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; many friends and many Bingo pals who will miss her very much.
