Hazel Geneva Clark

November 11, 1914 — January 17, 2008

Hazel Geneva Clark, daughter of the late Trella and Lola Fern (Mulkins) Holt, was born on November 11, 1914 in Ann, Missouri in Douglas County, and departed this life on January 17, 2008 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 93 years, 2 months, and 6 days of age.
Hazel grew up and attended school in Oklahoma and Missouri. She was united in marriage to Abrom Clark on December 26, 1931 in Mtn. Home, Arkansas. Three sons were born to this union. They moved their family to the Coffeyville, Kansas area in 1942 where they owned a grocery store. They moved back to Missouri in 1954 and operated a dairy farm in Douglas County until their retirement. Mr. Clark passed away on January 6, 1993.
Hazel enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, camping in her younger years, watching golf on television and reading her Bible.
She also liked all kinds of animals, especially dogs and cats.
Hazel was saved at a young age and attended the Victory Church in Vanzant where she enjoyed services as long as her health permitted.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Ray Holt and Maynard Holt; one sister: Bernice Nielson; a grandson: Steven Clark; and by a granddaughter: Sherry Mayberry.
She is survived by her three sons: Roland Clark and his wife, Betty, of Forsyth, Missouri, Hugh Clark and his wife, Gertie, of Vanzant, Missouri, and Mike Clark and his wife, Mabel, of Coffeyville, Kansas; two grandsons: Doug Clark of Kansas City, Missouri, and Brad Clark of Coffeyville, Kansas; three granddaughters: Kathy Breland and her husband, Ken, of the State of Georgia, Nikki Goodman of Springfield, Missouri, and Cindy Shrable and her husband, Eric, of Seymour, Missouri; eleven great-grandchildren: John Goodman, Ashley Mayberry, Danielle Breland, Dallas Massey, Seth Mayberry, Dillion Massey, Zachary Breland, Adrianne Mayberry, Beau Massey, Logan Clark, and Cody Clark; four great-great-grandchildren: Shelsie, Kenny Wayne, Waylon, and Evan; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services for Hazel Clark were held Saturday, January 19, 2008, 4:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Gail “Bud” Scherer officiating. The Victory Church Singers sang “Old Rugged Cross,” and “Victory In Jesus.” Pallbearers were Douglas Clark, Bradley Clark, Seth Mayberry, Eric Shrable, Ken Breland, and Bob Barlow. Burial was in the Pleasant Home Cemetery, Drury, Missouri under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.

Saturday, January 19, 3:30 - 4:00 PM in the chapel.

Pleasant Home Cemetery
