Harold Gene Lawson

March 30, 1930 — April 17, 2007

Harold Gene Lawson, son of the late Andrew Madison and Dove Lorene (Boykin) Lawson, was born on March 30, 1930 in Graff, Missouri, and departed this life on April 17, 2007 at his residence in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 77 years and 17 days of age.
Harold grew up and attended school in Wright County and served his country in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged on May 3, 1952. He was united in marriage to Audrey Middleton on May 22, 1953 in Springfield, Missouri. Three children were born to this union. They raised their family and made their home in the Mtn. Grove Community.
Harold was a loving, wonderful, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed playing golf as often as possible. His other hobbies were gardening and fishing.
Harold was saved and baptized at a young age and was a member of the Willow Springs Freewill Baptist Church for fifty-four years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Gregory Gene Lawson; one brother, Gerald Lawson; one sister: Ila (Lawson) Virtue; and by a half-sister: Nita Sagic.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years: Audrey Lawson of their home; his son and daughter-in-law: Kerry and Marilyn Lawson, of Thatcher, Arizona: his daughter and son-in-law: Jennifer and Kevin Harker of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; four brothers: Tommy Lawson of Bryan, Ohio, Huey Lawson of Mtn. Grove, Charles Lawson of Strafford, Missouri, and Benny Lawson of Springfield, Missouri; three sisters: Charlene Knox of Kerrville, Texas, Velma Knox of Mtn. Grove, and Linda Carignan of Cabool, Missouri; five grandchildren: Seth Harker and his wife, Jamie, Jonathan Lawson and his wife, Cassandra, Rachel (Harker) Riggs and her husband, Zach, Jordan Lawson, and Aaron Harker; one great-grandchild: Brodi Riggs; and a host of other relatives and friends who will remember him and miss him very much.
Funeral services for Harold Lawson were held Saturday, April 21, 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Gary Fry and Rev. Duane Crewse officiating. Marilyn Lawson, Jonathan Lawson and Jordan Lawson provided the music. Pallbearers were Seth Harker, Aaron Harker, Jonathan Lawson, Jordan Lawson, Zachary Riggs and Jack Dale. Honorary pallbearers were Don Harris, Jack McGownd, Leo Hill, John Shannon, Willie Adamson, and John Pearman. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.

Visitation: No Formal - Friends may call at their convenience after 10:00 AM Friday, April 20, in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
