Harlow Vincent Curtis

June 21, 1937 — December 25, 2013

Harlow Vincent Curtis, son of the late Truman and Ada (Day) Curtis, was born on June 21, 1937 in Wright County, Missouri in the St. George Community, and passed away suddenly at his residence on December 25, 2013 at 76 years of age.
Harlow grew up in the Grovespring area and attended the Durbin and Hartville Schools. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Fern Coffman on October 25, 1958 in Hartville. Two sons were born to this union. They made their home and raised their family in Wright County.
Harlow was employed by the Young’s Discount Store in Mtn. Grove for many years. He later worked as an electrician for Elza Jarrett.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Harlow enjoyed life and loved a good trade, and he found enjoyment in buying and selling almost anything.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed squirrel hunting, fishing the lakes and rivers for white bass and goggle-eye, gigging with the boys and fish fries on the creek bank. He liked attending Bluegrass and Gospel music events.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Phyllis Curtis on October 30, 2004; an infant brother; and by a sister and brother-in-law: Lucille and Gene Davis.
He is survived by his two sons and their wives: Harold and Mary Curtis of Cabool, Missouri, and Dean and Karen Curtis of Mtn. Grove; one sister: Viola Coday and her husband, Jerry, of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Dustin Curtis, Tiffany Bashor, Michika Fangrow, Ashley Oberdiear, Shana Curtis, Shaela Curtis, and Stephanie Curtis; eight great-grandchildren: Trevin Curtis, Clayton Curtis, Jade Bashor, Blythe Blakey, Chesnea Blakey, Addalea Oberdiear, Avery Oberdiear, and Bryson Curtis; a very special friend: Myrtle Day of Hartville, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
