Gregory Mark Germer, son of the late Siegfried W. Germer and Dorothy (Flannigan) Germer, was born on October 26, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, and departed this life on January 23, 2016, at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 67 years, 2 months, and 28 days of age.
Gregory grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and then joined the military. He was later discharged and lived in San Francisco, California, before moving to Mountain Grove, Missouri. Gregory was united in marriage to Rita Baty on St. Patricks Day of 1982, in Lake Tahoe, California. One son was born to this union: Austin.
Gregory was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to fish and go camping. He loved the mountains, with the Sierra Mountains being his favorite. Gregory had a few occupations during his lifetime. He was in the Navy, a gold-miner for a while, an auto mechanic, and then a bowling mechanic. He loved sports, football, and especially the San Francisco 49ers. Gregory loved his grandkids and was all about his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gregory was preceded in death by his father: Siegfried W. Germer.
He is survived by his wife: Rita Germer of the home; his mother: Dorothy Flannigan; son: Austin Germer and his wife, Tara, of Mountain Grove; three grandchildren: Katelyn Germer, Anthony Lewis, and Alexandria Hammack; one great-grandson: Luke Lewis; and a host of other family and friends.
