Grant Deighton

Grant Alexander Deighton was born on December 11, 1940, in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, to Howard Turner and Dolores (Grant) Deighton. He departed this life on July 4, 2024, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at the age of 83 years, 6 months, and 24 days.

Grant spent most of his life in California. He worked in the automotive industry. He was a general manager of a large car dealership in Sacramento, California. Grant and Fern Pinson were high school sweethearts in California in 1959. They were apart from each other for 54 years. After they reunited, they married on September 14, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Grant was a vintage car enthusiast and anything “Hot Rod” related. He and Fern enjoyed traveling together and spending a month at a time in Florida each year. He loved all sports, especially watching them on TV. 

Grant was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Dolores Deighton; and his wife, Fern Deighton.

He is survived by one daughter, Deborah Vasquez; two step-sons, Randy Gaddis and wife, Shonnie, and Rick Gaddis, and wife, Deborah; one granddaughter, Crystal; sister-in-law, Judy Garner; and niece, Tina Garner. Grant will be truly missed by his family and friends.
