Goldia Marie Bradshaw, daughter of the late Daniel Joseph and Dora Ellen (Howard) Painter, was born on August 29, 1923 in St. George, Missouri and departed this life on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 in the Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri, following a short illness. She was 84 years, 10 months, and 2 days of age.
Goldia grew up in St. George and attended the Cope School. She was united in marriage to Arthur Abb Martin in 1956. Four children were born to this union.
She was later married to Jessie Sherman Bradshaw in 1968. They made their home in the Mtn. Grove area for many years.
Goldia loved taking care of her family and visiting with her many friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands; one son: James Daniel Martin in 2002; two brothers: Howard Painter and Chalmer Painter; sister: Edith Besse; and by an infant sister: Sylvia May Painter.
She is survived by her two sons: Donald Eugene “Donnie” Martin and Arthur Lane Martin both of Mtn. Grove; one daughter: Anna Marie Martin of Mtn. Grove; two brothers: Robert Painter of Lebanon, Missouri and Wilbert Painter of Mtn. Grove; one sister: Ethel Cravens of Parma, Missouri; one step-son: Ken Bradshaw; three step-daughters: Thelma Farr, Lily Pelliccio and Willie Barnett; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
Funeral services for Goldia Bradshaw were held Thursday, July 3, 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Ronald Turner officiating. Song selections were “Pray The Clouds Away,” “The Love That Man Of Galilee,” and “Jesus, Use Me.” Pallbearers were Francis Volner, Daniel Fullington, Paul Cooper, Ray Volner, Donald Martin, and Troy Moore. Burial was in the McMahan Cemetery in Texas County under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
