Glenna Marie (Todd) Postlewait of Mountain Grove, Missouri, daughter of Ernest and Marie Todd, was born on April 11, 1939 in Cabool, Missouri, and departed this life while in Hartville Care Center on October 8, 2016 at the age of 77 years, 5 months, and 27 days, after a long battle with cancer.
She married Gene Postlewait on September 25, 1955 in Mountain Grove, Missouri. To this union three children were born: Debra Marie, Terry Gene, and Michael Dean.
After marriage they moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she worked at Hallmark Cards. Glenna and Gene moved back home to Mountain Grove in 1959. In 1961, they bought a farm in Huggins, Missouri, and Glenna began working in the factory industry at H.D. Lee in Houston and Brown Shoe Company in Mountain Grove for many years. Glenna also enjoyed working at State School #30 where she retired after years of helping disabled children. From the beginning of their marriage, she assisted Gene in gospel ministry wherever they lived and was a caring and compassionate example to everyone who knew her. Glenna had the ability to make everyone feel welcomed and good about themselves. Many of her nurses described her as the sweetest woman on Earth, even during her final days.
Glenna enjoyed fishing with Gene or anyone who would take her. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, solving puzzles, and St. Louis Cardinal ballgames, as long as they were winning. Glenna loved being around her family as much as possible, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
