Glendell 'Glen' Jay Bomberger

April 13, 1947 — March 24, 2011

Glendell Jay “Glen” Bomberger, son of the late Roscoe Jerry and Ethel Marie (Howard) Bomberger, was born on April 13, 1947 in Lincoln, Nebraska, and departed this life peacefully on March 24, 2011 at his residence north of Mtn. Grove, Missouri. He was 63 years, 11 months and 11 days of age.
Glen grew up and attended school in Lincoln, Nebraska, and graduated from high school in Douglas in 1965. He was united in marriage to Irene Kolbo on May 26, 1972 in Gretna, Nebraska. Two children were born to this union.
Glen was employed as a pressman for the Omaha World Herald and he also worked for the Houston Chronicle for several years. He worked as a Ferrier, shoeing horses on the side. He was active in the Texas Longhorn Association and he enjoyed showing cattle. Over the years he had a few champions.
He and Irene moved to Missouri fourteen years ago. Glen loved to visit with those around him and he never met a stranger he couldn’t talk to. He was a confidant to many people and a good neighbor. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife: Irene Bomberger of their home; one son: Ronald Bomberger and his wife, Sarah, of Apex, North Carolina; one daughter: Earlynn Bomberger of Columbia, Missouri; two sisters: Doris Fuller and Fern Edwards, both of Oregon; three grandchildren: Adelaide, Corinne, and Claire Bomberger; and a host of other relatives, neighbors and friends who will truly miss him.
