Georgie Junior 'Red' Crisp

Georgie Crisp, Jr., son of the late Georgie C. and Nora Alma (Zirschky) Crisp, was born on March 9, 1936 in Manes, Missouri. Georgie was one of thirteen children. He passed away on February 21, 2014 at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri, surrounded by his family. He was 77 years, 11 months, and 21 days of age.
Georgie grew up in the Manes community. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1955 – 1959. He married Carol Sue Hurley on January 29, 1960. Four children were born to this union: Mark, Matt, Marty, and Loretta.
Georgie was employed at Wren’s U-Save station for eighteen years and mowed yards for several years. Georgie greatly enjoyed working in his garden and became an excellent gardener. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting antique clocks.
Georgie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, Georgie was preceded in death by two brothers: Dale and Buddy Crisp.
He is survived by his loving wife of their home, Carol; three sons: Mark Crisp, Matt Crisp and his wife, Barbara, and Marty Crisp all of Mountain Grove; one daughter: Loretta Parks and her husband, Paul, of Springfield, Missouri; ten grandchildren: Heather Clinton and her husband, Jarrod, Amber, Martin, Lee, and Kristian Crisp, Lisa Williams, and her husband, Joseph, Kim and Emily Crisp, and Mavis and Eli Parks, seven great-grandchildren: Kylie and Dylan Clinton, Kaydance and Ivy Crisp, and Alina, McKenna and Tucker Williams; four brothers: Gene Crisp of Mountain Grove, Paul Crisp and his wife, Norma, of Manes, Eldon Crisp and his wife, Deanna of Manes, and Dean and his wife, Marsha, of Hartville, Missouri; six sisters: Dottie James of Mountain Grove, Audra Jackson and her husband, Bill, of Mountain Grove, Alice Strong of Cabool, Missouri, Maxine French and her husband, Bob, of Mountain Grove, Susie Luton of Cabool, and Judy Turner of Manes; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
