George Newton Davis, son of the late Julian and Vada (Coday) Davis, was born January 6, 1929, in Mansfield, Missouri, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 25, 2022, in Rogersville, Missouri. He was 93 years and 19 days of age.
George grew up in Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1947. After graduating, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he went to work. George met Betty Stockstill, who was the love of his life, and they were married on October 17, 1953, in Kansas City. This union was blessed with three children, John, Sandra, and Mary. After raising his family and retirement, George and Betty moved back to George’s hometown, Mansfield, Missouri.
George enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and helping his wife in the garden. He was a kind and generous man, who will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, George was preceded in death by one brother, John Davis, and one sister, Margaret Ghan.
He is survived by one son, John Davis and his wife, Tammy, of Raytown, Missouri, two daughters, Sandra DeWilligen and her husband, Bill, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, and Mary Guinn and her husband, Ron, of Springfield, Missouri, eighteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
