Gary Proctor

Gary Lee Proctor, son of the late Vasel and Ruby (Hicks) Proctor, was born April 26, 1950, in Norwood, Missouri. He passed away on January 9, 2025, in the Harry S. Truman Veterans’ Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of 74.

Gary grew up in Douglas County, Missouri, around the Drury community, attending grade school at Fairview and Skyline. He graduated with the Mountain Grove High School class of 1968. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on November 5, 1968, and was honorably discharged on October 17, 1972.

Gary was a great television technician and enjoyed working on electronic equipment. In his spare time he loved to be in the great outdoors, hunting and fishing. Many good memories were made over the years hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Christie Proctor; sister, Barbara Cooper; and sister-in-law, Kathy Proctor.

Gary is survived by his brothers, Lyman “Pete” Proctor and wife, Phyllis, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Frankie Proctor and wife, Freda, of Warsaw, Missouri; brother-in-law, Darrell Cooper of Mountain Grove, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
