Gary Hicks

Gary Lee Hicks, son of the late Delbert Cecil and Edna (Ford) Hicks, was born February 20, 1951, in Hartville, Missouri, and passed from this life December 13, 2023, in Cabool, Missouri, at the age of 72.

Gary loved to hunt, fish, metal detect, and ride his 4-wheeler. He was very proud of his woodworking skills.

Gary was saved as a young boy, and often spoke about making it to heaven one day so he could be reunited with the love of his life, his wife, Janice.

Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Janice (Moore) Hicks; a great-granddaughter, Kensley Boulware; and a grandson, Gabriel Kelley.

Gary is survived by two sons, Tom Smith and wife, Glendela, of Cabool, Missouri, and Scott Hicks of Springfield, Missouri; one daughter, Amanda Kelley and husband, Jacob, of Norwood, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Brittany White, Tim Smith, Ryan Smith, Shyla Boulware, Shianna Smith, Shawn Smith, Connor Kelley, Teara Smith, and Blake Kelley; numerous great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.

A private burial took place in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Norwood, Missouri, under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove. Contact the Hicks family for information on a memorial service to be held at a later date.
