Gary Dean Smythe

Gary Dean Smythe, son of the late Carrel Smythe and Trella June (Martin) Ellis, was born December 14, 1948, in Ozark, Missouri, and passed away August 24, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was 73 years, 8 months, and 10 days of age.

Gary grew up in the Fordland area. He worked at Heads Orchard in Seymour, Missouri, for several years. He was also self-employed cutting wood for people.

Gary enjoyed being outdoors going hunting for wild game and hunting for mushrooms. He always put out a big garden that he enjoyed working in. Gary liked to drive around going sight-seeing and visiting with his friends.

Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Carol Smythe, and one brother, Steven Smythe.

He is survived by two brothers, Mike Smythe and Doug Smythe, two sisters, Colleen Adams and her husband, Earl, and Cheryl Ellis and her husband, Alvin, and other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
