Gary Dale Tate, son of the late Clyde William and Beulah Mae (McNeece) Tate, was born on November 25, 1946 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and departed this life on May 27, 2014 in the Christian Health Care South in Lebanon, Missouri, following a short illness, at 67 years of age.
As a young boy, Gary was saved and baptized. He grew up in Lynchburg, Missouri, and graduated from Plato High School in 1964. He served his country in the United States Air Force for four years and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant on May 29, 1969. He received a National Defense Service Medal and an Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
Gary worked as a Sales Representative for Cummins Diesel in Kansas City, Missouri and later he was employed by White Freightliner in Springfield, Missouri.
He enjoyed being outdoors and was known as an avid hunter. He also liked to garden. He enjoyed sharing his produce with his neighbors and friends. Gary enjoyed traveling whenever he got an opportunity. Later in life he went on several bus tours.
Gary was a good brother, neighbor and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting with those around him.
He was preceded in death by his father: Clyde Tate in 1998; and by his mother: Beulah Tate in 2008.
He is survived by his two brothers: Carl Tate of Lynchburg, Missouri and Glenn Tate of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and his many friends and neighbors who will miss him very much.
Visitation: Thursday, May 29 th from 7:00 PM 8:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: Friday, May 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Embree Community Church (Dutch Chapel Church).
