Frank Joseph Obed Sr.

Frank Joseph Obed, Sr., son of the late Frank J. Obed and Beatrice (Yankee) Curry, was born on October 7, 1935 in Illinois and passed away on March 17, 2008 in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri, following a long illness, at 72 years of age.
Frank grew up in Illinois and later moved to Missouri. He served his country in the United States Army.
At the time of his passing, he had made his home in Ozark, Missouri.
Frank enjoyed being outdoors, especially when hunting and fishing. He also liked to tinker in his garage on different projects.
He was always willing to help those around him who had a need. He was a good friend and neighbor who will be truly missed.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Bill Casey; and by a daughter: Sue Langston.
He is survived by two sons: Frank J. Obed Jr., of Ozark, Missouri and Tom Obed of Hampshire, Illinois; four daughters: Debora Henry, Connie West, Edith Moore of Springfield, Missouri and Joyce Perrin and her husband, Bob, of Mansfield, Missouri; one brother: John Obed of West Monroe, Louisiana; two sisters: Marie Brown of Mars Hill, North Carolina, and Barbara Guzeman of Appleton, Wisconsin; two half-brothers: Donald Zarnow of Malvern, Arkansas, and Fred Ruhman of Phoenix, Arizona; twenty grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Frank Obed Sr. were held Friday, March 21, 2008, 10:00 AM in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Adam Parrish officiating. Full military honors were given at the cemetery by The American Legion Post 30 and The Lima Team Burial detail with Jared Moore serving as bugler. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
