Francis Frank John Mings, 87, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, April 21st, 2015 at his residence.
Frank was born on October 28, 1927 in Competition, Missouri to Ransom and Rosa Mings.
As a young adult, Frank went to Sioux City, Iowa on a truck delivering chickens. He there found work at American Serum Company, where he was employed as the night watchman for 7-8 years. It was during this time that he met brothers Gordon and Dwaine Hummel. Through their friendship he met their sister, Bonnie, whom he later married. Frank and Bonnie had one son, Dennis. They later divorced.
Frank was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Miskelumas on February 24th, 1951 in Sioux City, Iowa.
They soon moved to Seattle, Washington, where he worked for Boeing. Later he transferred to Wichita, Kansas. He eventually went to Barber College and owned his own barbershop for many years.
After retiring, Frank made his way back home to Missouri, where he enjoyed helping family, friends, and neighbors. He thoroughly enjoyed playing music and could be found playing at many different venues in the area.
Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brothers: Allen, Noel, Clyde, and Ben; his sisters: Marjorie, Ivory, Ida, and Eunice.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary; his son: Dennis and his wife, Denise; his sisters: Ernestine, Maxine, Rachel, and Rosalea; one grandson: Travis and his wife, Tristan; three granddaughters: Allison and Jeremy, Tiffany and Trent, and Sarah and Anthony; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
