Frances Madalene Tool, daughter of the late Henry Gordon and Minnie Lea (Ferguson) McNairn, was born on September 27, 1925 at her parents home in Izard County, Arkansas, and went home to the Lord following health complications associated with a lengthy hospital stay. At the time of her passing she was living in Blue Springs, Missouri, near family. She was 88 years 11 months 13 days of age.
Frances grew up on a farm in Fulton County, Arkansas and attended school in Morriston. She was united in marriage to Ray Howard Tool on June 13, 1951 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. The made their home shortly thereafter in Phenix City, Alabama and Columbus, Georgia while Ray served in the military. Following Rays discharge from the US Army, they moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri, making it their home for 60 years.
Frances was a fulltime homemaker and a continual blessing to her husband and children as well as a caregiver for her parents. She delighted in her family, devoting herself to them tirelessly. She took special joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frances had been a member of the Church of Christ since she was 16 years old having been baptized into Christ in the Little Strawberry River at Morriston, Arkansas, following a gospel meeting in August, 1942. She devoted herself to the service of her Lord from that day until the day of her death. Having put her hand to the plow she never looked back (Luke 9:62).
She was preceded in death by all four sisters: Orene McNairn, Susan Ivelene NcNairn , Edrie Emiline Stephens and Mary Aletha Dover.
Frances is survived by her husband: Ray Howard Tool, of the home; one son: Allen Tool and his wife, Sherry, of Blue Springs, Missouri; one daughter: Angela Brummet and her husband, Jerry, of McAlester, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Nathan Tool, of Blue Springs, Missouri, Katie Wasson and her husband, Dave, of Phoenix, Arizona, and Scott Thornhill and his wife, Mirela, of Republic, Missouri; and three great-grandchildren: Macie Thornhill, Kile Thornhill and Nickolas Thornhill.
