Floyd Hugh Sanders II, son of the late Floyd H. and Leota (Raney) Sanders, was born February 9, 1949 in Springfield, Missouri and passed away Friday, February 2, 2007 at his residence in Fordland, Missouri.
Floyd grew up in Mountain Grove and graduated from the Mountain Grove High School in 1967. He continued his education and graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a BS in Business. Floyd worked in sales until he became disabled in 1989. He and Gerrie Barlow were married on November 25, 1992. He was also a member of the Norwood Masonic Lodge # 622 and the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine. Floyd loved and enjoyed his family very much. He greatly enjoyed visits from his grandchildren and loved listening to his granddaughter, Courtney Park, sing “Amazing Grace”. He also enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Texas. Going to the farm in Mansfield and watching the newborn calves also brought him much joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife, Gerrie Sanders, of their home; two sons: Kevin Barlow and his wife, Amy, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Matthew Sanders and his wife, Nikole, of Nixa, Missouri; three daughters: Kayla Ahumada and her husband, Roy, of Fordland, Missouri, Kimberly Park and her husband, David, of Fairgrove, Missouri, and Michelle Grossen and her husband, David, of West Point, Virginia; one foster son: Charles Ahumada and his wife, Christina, of Mount Vernon, Missouri; twenty grandchildren: Chad and Tyler Barlow, Tori and Roni Posey, Richard, Joe, Nichole, Nick, and Phillip Ahumada, Kaitlyn, Jordan, and Haidyn Grossen, Chase, Courtney, Chandler, Christa, and Cannan Park, Aaron and Trenton Sanders, and Cadance Ahumada; and a host of relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
Funeral services for Floyd Hugh sanders II were held Tuesday, February 6, 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. David Park and Rev. Joe Campbell officiating. Jenny Sowers and Courtney Park served as singers and Becky Bass served as pianist. Song selections were “How Great Thou Art,” “Gathering Flowers For The Master’s Bouquet,” and “Amazing Grace.” Pallbearers were Chad Barlow, Tyler Barlow, Chase Park, Bob Barlow, Bob Chadwell, and Gary Henerson. Honorary pallbearers were Jordan Grossen, Cannan Park, Nick Ahumada, Phillip Ahumada, Trenton Sanders, Aaron Sanders, and Joe Ahumada. Burial was in the Ball Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, MO.
