Farrell Warren McCoy, son of the late Clarence and Golda (Wade) McCoy, was born on May 20, 1927, in the Embree community near Manes, MO, and departed this life on April 10, 2010, at his home in Mtn. Grove, MO, following a short illness. He was 82 years, 11 months, and 21 days of age.
Farrell grew up and attended school in the Manes area. On January 12, 1945, he married his childhood sweetheart, Mary Verlee Key. Three children were born to this union.
Farrell worked for Empire Gas Company and retired as the manager in 1989. He truly enjoyed his years of helping people and getting to know his customers. He was an honest and true gentleman that would greet you with a smile.
Farrell enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, watching Cardinals baseball, playing cards, and singing and playing country music. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Farrell is survived by his loving wife of 65 years: Verlee McCoy; one son: Bill McCoy and wife Leyetta of Springfield, MO; two daughters: Glennis Lynn of Walnut Grove, MO, and Glenda McCarty and husband Ken of Mtn. Grove, MO; one sister: Azalee Fletcher and husband Jake; seven grandchildren: Scott McCoy and wife Lisa, Richard McCoy, Tammy Worthy and husband Bob, Jerry Lynn and wife Diana, Mike Lynn and wife Christina, Chris Burkhart and wife Sarah, and Jeff Burkhart and wife Melody; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; an uncle: Henry McCoy and wife Mildred; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.

Monday, April 12, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
