Evelyn Francis Delcour- McClanahan, daughter of Eugene Warren “Bud” and Hannah Francis (Buttram) Stanley, was born March 27, 1933, in Wright County, Missouri, and passed from this life December 14, 2021, in Springfield, Missouri. She was 88 years, 8 months, and 18 days of age.
Prior to retirement, Evelyn worked for H.D. Lee’s in Hartville and Lebanon. She was a hard worker and not only worked hard at her job, but she worked hard at raising her family.
Evelyn married Wayne Young in 1951; he preceded her in death. She married Howard “Dale” Delcour on May 22, 1953, and he preceded her in death in 1986. Evelyn married Joe McClanahan on July 7, 1995, and he preceded her in death in 2001. Also preceding her in death were her parents, a daughter, Janet Lawson, a granddaughter, Kimberly Goldsmith, a great-grandson, James Johnson, three brothers, Warren, Bill, and David Stanley, two sisters, Louise Wiseman and June Ray, two daughters-in-law, Brenda and Mary Delcour, three sons-in-law, Roger Pearce, Richard Lawson, and Jerry Goldsmith.
Survivors include her children, Jerry Delcour and his wife, Pam, of Falcon, Missouri, Jeff Delcour and his wife, Leann, of Lebanon, Missouri, Joann Bryson, and Joyce Long and her husband, Roger, all of Hartville, Missouri, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Leon Stanley of Seymour, Missouri, and Gene Stanley and his wife, Jackie, of Conway, Missouri, three sisters, Judy Craighead of Texas, Sue Lansdown of Hartville, Missouri, and Faye Anderson and her husband, Jim, of Utah, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Evelyn enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and rummage sales. She loved to just be on the run and go all the time. It didn’t matter where you were going, she just enjoyed riding, especially with her best friend Lois. She was a people watcher and also enjoyed watching the neighborhood squirrels, birds, and especially the hummingbirds. Most of all, Evelyn enjoyed the time she could spend with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend
