Evelyn Phronia Bushong, daughter of the late Ivy and Pearl (Baker) Hutchison, was born August 28, 1932, in Vanzant, Missouri, and went peacefully to her heavenly home on April 18, 2021, in Springfield, Missouri. She was 88 years, 7 months, and 21 days of age.
Evelyn was united in marriage to Al Bushong on May 18, 1950. They were privileged to share 51 years together. Two sons were born to this union, Keith and Paul.
Evelyn was known for her skills in sewing, gardening, and cooking. She always kept an immaculate home. Her family always joked that you could eat off of her garage floor, but it was really no joke as you actually could have because of the cleanliness. She and Al enjoyed trips to the lake and chasing white bass around at Truman and Stockton lakes. They were privileged to share many vacations together throughout the years.
Evelyn was a member of Jackson Street Church of Christ in Willard, Missouri. We were blessed to have her on this earth for 88 years. She had suffered many health issues over the years and seemed to just keep on going. We are thankful and take comfort in knowing she has arrived safely and is enjoying her new home in glory.
Besides her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Al Bushong, brothers, Clifford and Bill Hutchison, and sister, Pauline Scott.
Survivors include her sons, Keith Bushong and wife, Robin, and Paul Bushong, all of Springfield, Missouri, two grandchildren, JJ Bushong of Springfield, Missouri, and Aly Cesar and husband, Damon, of Willard, Missouri, one great-grandson, Ayden Cesar, one nephew, Ivan Scott of San Francisco, California, and one great-niece, Pauline of Tennessee.
