Eulalion “Ileane” Pulaski, daughter of the late Howard and Dosha Vera (Day) Ellington, was born on March 27, 1927 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, and departed this life on January 12, 2013 at her residence in Springfield, Missouri, at 85 years, 9 months and 16 days of age.
Ileane grew up in Mtn. Grove, Missouri and attended the Fairview School. She was united in marriage to Leslie Merriett in August of 1941. Four children were born to this union, Howard, Catherine, Carolyn and Albert.
In 1973, Ileane married Dale Pulaski in Reno, Nevada.
Ileane lived several years in California, Washington, and Oregon. She moved back to Missouri in the early 1970’s. She made her home in Mtn. Grove, Missouri before moving to Springfield, Missouri in 1997. Ileane retired from the nursing field several years ago.
She adopted the name, Ileane, because people in general couldn’t spell or pronounce, Eulalion. She was also called “Little MO,” because she was from Missouri.
Ileane was of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed attending services with her sister, Katy, as long as her health permitted.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Pulaski; her grandparents; two sons; one daughter; one brother; and by one sister.
She is survived by one daughter; one sister: Katy Gray of Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; four nieces; eight nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; many cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
