Eula Mae Wade

September 3, 1920 — March 31, 2009

Eula Mae Wade, daughter of the late Andrew and Ethel (Porter) Beckner, was born on September 3, 1920 in Trenton, Missouri and departed this life on March 31, 2009 in the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, Missouri, following a short illness. She was 88 years, 6 months and 27 days of age.
Eula grew up in Trenton and graduated from Trenton High School on May 19, 1938. Following graduation she was employed as telephone operator. Later she worked as an operator for the United States Army where she met her future husband, James Omer Wade. They were united in marriage on November 13, 1943 in Kansas City, Kansas. Six children were born to this union. They raised their family in the Mtn. Grove area where they owned and operated Wade’s Dry Cleaners for sixty-two years. She never wanted to retire and always enjoyed taking care of her customers and visiting with her many friends.
Eula took pride in her community and when it came to cleaning the school’s band uniforms and other uniforms, she took great pride in how they looked. Her hobby was attending ballgames and school plays that her children and grandchildren were involved in.
Eula and her husband enjoyed helping others in the community and also area churches and pastors. They were involved in the Full Gospel Business Men’s Association for many years.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, neighbor and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her. While her health permitted, she attended the Abundant Life Word Ministries in Dunn, Missouri. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James O. Wade; an infant son: John Robert Wade; one brother: Delvin Beckner; and by one sister: Betty Roach.
She is survived by three sons: Tom Wade of Springfield, Missouri, Jim Wade and his wife, Lynn, of Miami, Oklahoma, and Joe Bill Wade of Mtn. Grove; two daughters: Susie Schober and her husband, Don, of Mtn. Grove, and Jean Ann Douglass and her husband, Charley, of Dolores, Colorado; thirteen grandchildren: Jessie Wade, Butch Alsup, Cindy Miller, Linda Grogan, Angie Mooneyham, Clint Schober, Amy Salaverry, Ashley Pyle, Jeremy Wade, Jennifer Wade, Marcie Wade, Jessica Wade, and Travis Wade; sixteen great-grandchildren: Ridge, Shelby, Kylie, Rachel, Mathew, Logan, Mackina, Morgan, Summer, Gentry, Hanna, Cage, Madison, Canaan, Adaya, and Breanna; two nephews: Bobby Roach and Andrew Roach; and a host of other relatives and friends.
