Eugene Todd

April 7, 1926 — April 30, 2009

Eugene Todd, son of the late Thomas David and Cordelia (Rader) Todd, was born on April 7, 1926 in Manes, Missouri and departed this life on April 30, 2009 at his residence near Manes, following a long illness. He was 83 years and 23 days of age.
Eugene grew up and attended school in the Manes Community in Wright County. He was united in marriage to Maxine Dowden on March 9, 1944 in Hartville, Missouri. Four children were born to this union.
Eugene was employed doing construction work for many years. He also enjoyed taking care of his farm and tending to farm chores. In his spare time he liked to go fishing and quail hunting.
He was a longtime member of the Green Mountain Baptist Church and his Christian faith and witness was an important part of his life.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, neighbor and friend. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and visiting with his many friends. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers: Ernie, Virgil, Orvil, Arthur, Everett, Raymond and Berdell Todd; and by two sisters: Darless Prock and Thelma Burney.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years: Maxine Todd of their home; his children: Ronald Eugene Todd and his wife, Brenda, of Manes, Missouri, Evelyn Shaneberger and her husband, Roy, of Columbia, Illinois, Steven Alan Todd and his wife, Lisa, of Falcon, Missouri, and Lori Annette Todd of St. Louis, Missouri; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral Services:
Monday, May 4, 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Sunday, May 3, 4:00 - 6:00 PM in the funeral home.
