Ethmer “Doc” Franklin Johnson, son of the late Russell Clarence and Mary (Randall) Johnson, was born July 29, 1938, in Elk Creek, Missouri, and departed this life March 10, 2022, at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 83 years, 7 months, and 12 days of age.
Doc was raised in the Elk Creek Community in Texas County. He graduated from Cabool High School in 1957. He worked at the Brown Shoe Factory for many years.
Doc married Phyllis McGuire on September 10, 1972, in Houston, Missouri. Four children were born to this union. Doc also had three children from a previous marriage.
Doc enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports. He was an excellent cook and great at hosting fish fries. Doc loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he really enjoyed spending time with them.
Doc was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Jean, Jim and Marvin Johnson, and four sisters, Dorothy Cape, Velma Adams, Nadine Rust, and Frances Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of the home in Mountain Grove, Missouri, three sons, Danny Johnson and wife, Debbie, of Cabool, Missouri, Russell Johnson and wife, Angie, of Norwood, Missouri, Jacob Johnson of Springfield, Missouri, four daughters, Kathleen Woelfersheim and husband, Tom, of Cabool, Missouri, Connie Colton of Marshfield, Missouri, Samantha Baty and husband, David, of Marshfield, Missouri and Sara Archer and husband, David, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a sister, Ruby Rice and husband, Bud, of Lebanon, Missouri, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him.
