Ervin Bobby James

Ervin Bobby James, son of the late Hershel and Millie (Breedlove) James, was born on March 23, 1932 in Plato, Missouri in Texas County and departed this life on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at his residence in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 75 years, 7 months and 1 day of age.
Ervin grew up and attended school in Plato. He served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on August 10, 1959. He was united in marriage to Dottie Crisp on June 10, 1960 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. Together they raised two children. They made their home in Mtn. Grove for over forty-two years and had lived in the surrounding community for many years.
Ervin was employed by Landers and Barker Lumber Yard in Mtn. Grove and Seymour and had managed the Seymour store for over a decade. He also worked at Town & Country Supermarket in Mtn. Grove for sixteen years where he made many friends.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor and friend. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting with his numerous friends.
He also enjoyed playing his guitar and singing in church and at different activities. He was a very active member of the Southside Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove where he looked forward to attending services and get-togethers.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Emil James; one sister: Nadene James; and by two grandchildren: Victoria Nicole Donovan and Derrick James. Ervin is survived by his loving wife of 47 years: Dottie James of their home; a son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Janet James of Los Angeles, California; a daughter and son-in-law: Deborah and James Donovan of Plano, Texas; two brother: Jesse James of Falcon, Missouri and Bob James of Vancouver, Washington; Bob French who lovingly filled the roll of a brother ; four grandchildren: Tony Brown, Shawn James, Lindi James, and Shane James; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.


Visitation: Saturday, Oct. 27 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM before the service in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Funeral Services: Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
