Emma Jean Talbot

Emma Jean Talbot, daughter of Jackson Davis Hopkins and Georgia Wilson, was born December 14, 1933, in Humboldt, Kansas, and departed this life on March 9, 2020, at Nixa Nursing and Rehab in Nixa, Missouri, at the age of 86years, 2 months, and 26 days.

Emma graduated high school from Norwood, Missouri, in 1951. On December 26, 1952, she was united in marriage to Bennie Talbot. To this union, one son was born.

Emma was an exceptional seamstress and made beautiful quilts. Emma was a member of the Ozark Piecemakers Quilt Guild and was a past president.

Emma taught school at Nixa East Elementary. She enjoyed teaching for many years.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie who died in 2011, and by her son, Roger who died in 2018.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Esther Jones of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Patsy Johnson of Orogrande, New Mexico, and many nieces and nephews and friends who will miss her greatly.
