Ellen Ann Welton

Ellen Ann Welton, daughter of the late John Wesley and Rosie Arzula (Gausnell) Estes, was born on May 30, 1938, in Claremore, Oklahoma, and died peacefully at her home on October 19, 2015, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 77 years, 4 months, and 19 days of age.
Ellen moved to California as a young child. She graduated high school in Woodland, California. She was united in marriage to Richard Welton on October 29, 1955. Four daughters were born to this union: Lucinda Ann, Rebecca Sue, Miranda Kay, and Christina Marie. After Ellen and Richard were married, they moved to Missouri.
Ellen loved being a housewife, mother, and grandmother. She greatly enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She liked going to the lake and camping, and going out on the boat. Ellen enjoyed going to church and teaching Bible School. She loved to sing, garden, and to pick blackberries.
Besides her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by two brothers: John Estes and Samuel Estes; one sister: Margie Donaghey; and one granddaughter: Jessica Sullivan.
She is survived by four daughters: Cindy Smith and her husband, Charley, of Nixa, Missouri, Becky Sullivan and her husband, Clay, of Cabool, Missouri, Mandy Welton and her husband, Steve Roethlisberger, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Christy Welton of Mountain Grove, Missouri; one brother: Frank Estes of Great Falls, Montana; two sisters: Ethel South of Woodland, California, and Harriett Haines of Woodland, California; four grandchildren: Shaun Collins and his wife, Tiffany, Brianna Williams and her husband, Jason, Lindsey Bratrude, and Emily Roethlisberger; two great-grandchildren: Nyla and Ronin Collins; and a host of other family and friends.


Visitation: Thursday, October 22, 2015, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Friday, October 23, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
