Eldora Reberry, daughter of the late Presley and Lona (Brook) Jones, was born on February 4, 1908 in Dawson, Missouri and departed this life on November 18, 2012 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. She was 104 years of age.
Eldora grew up and attended school in the Dawson community. She was united in marriage to Raymond W. Reberry in 1929. Together they operated an automotive shop for almost 19 years. In 1962, they bought a farm located southwest of Mtn. Grove. Mr. Reberry passed away on May 29, 1989.
Eldora worked as a clerk at Richards Brothers Supermarket until she was 92 years old. She faithfully attended the Calvary Temple Church of Mtn. Grove as long as her health permitted. Eldora lived on her farm until March of 2000. She then became a resident of Autumn Oaks. She participate in the Golden age Games every years since entering the nursing home and had won numerous awards, including the oldest participant, several times. One funny memory was that every year when Eldora was presented with this award, she was asked, “how old are you?” Eldora would answer in her sweet, quiet, little voice with a random number, such as, sixteen or twenty-six.
Eldora was a sweet, kind, and loving person who always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed reading magazines, newspapers, and playing Bingo with her friends.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her loving Autumn Oaks family and her friends who will always hold a special place in their hearts for her and will miss her greatly.
