Edwin “Ed” John McClure, son of the late Maurice “Mac” and Bernadine McClure was born May 5, 1958, in Mountain View, Missouri, and departed this life November 22, 2018, at his home in Norwood, Missouri, at 60 years of age.
Ed graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1976 and will be remembered by his classmates as an excellent ball player. He enjoyed football and basketball.
Ed was united in marriage to his former wife, Jeanine Coffman, on August 9, 1980. Two children were born to this union, Jennifer and Johnathan McClure. He also gained a step-son from this union, Shane Barbrow. Ed was united to the love of his life, Eugenia McCallister, on October 9, 1998, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Ed gained two step-children from this marriage, Kim McCallister and Jacob Owens.
Ed worked running the paper route in Mountain Grove when his mother ran it. Ed worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator, burying cable. Later in life, he became a truck driver.
Ed loved playing the guitar and singing. He was known to his wife, kids, and grandkids as a loving father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Ed attended Southside Baptist Church in Mountain Grove off and on for many years. He was a devout Christian and was always known for his wisdom on all religious subjects.
Besides his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by two brothers, Dick McClure and Dexter McClure.
Edwin is survived by one son, Johnathan McClure and his wife, Missy, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, one daughter, Jennifer McClure of Mountain Grove, Missouri, two step-sons, Shane Barbrow and Jacob Owens, both of Norwood, Missouri, one step-daughter, Kimberley McCallister of West Plains, Missouri, two brothers, Leslie McClure of the Phillipines, and Ted McClure of Springfield, Missouri, two sisters, Carolyn Jimenez of Kannapolis, North Carolina, and Alice Miller of Mountain Grove, Missouri, six grandchildren, Dakota McCallister, Kain Noble, Bailee McCallister, Raylyn Owens, Conner Ross, and Zayne McClure and many other relatives and friends.
