Rose Edna Marie (Gipson) Mahurin was born March 6, 1914 in Saco, Missouri to Ethel Jane (Huff) and Henry Verden Gipson, and departed this life March 5, 2017 at her home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 102 years, 11 months, and 27 days of age.
Edna was united in marriage to Louis Clive Skip Mahurin on April 23, 1930 in Elvins, Missouri. Eleven children were born to this union. Skip worked for the highway department and they traveled and lived in many different places before settling back in Mountain Grove.
Edna loved her flowers, especially her African Violets. She also loved quilting, and she made each one of her daughters a quilt that she had sewn by hand.
Edna was saved and baptized as a young woman. She was a faithful member of the Assembly of God denomination and loved to attend church as long as her health permitted.
She was an inspiration to all of her family and those who knew her.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Clive Mahurin, who passed away December 28, 1999; two sons, Junior Mahurin in 1955 in the Korean War, and Gale Mahurin in 2003; two infant children; four grandsons, Kenny Gray, Christopher Bell, Eddie Bennett, and Charles Eugene Bennett; one son-in-law, Eugene Bennett; four brothers, Aden Gibson, Owlen Gipson, Ivan Colyott, and Gene Colyott; and two sisters, Lilly Laramore and Delsey Laramore.
Edna is survived by two sons, David Mahurin and his wife, Shirlene, of Erie, Kansas, and Dannie Mahurin and his wife, Lori, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; five daughters, Geneva Ballew of Mount Vernon, Missouri, Arletta Meisner of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Betty Gray and her husband, Kenneth, of Norwood, Missouri, Joyce Bennett of Macomb, Missouri, and Sue Mahurin of Mountain Grove; two brothers, Henry Gipson and his wife, Pat, of Fayetteville, Illinois, and Cleval Colyott, and his wife, Barbara, of Dover, Illinois; one sister, Dessie Wake of Arcadia, Missouri; twenty-three grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren, fifty-seven great-great grandchildren, and two great-great-great grandchildren.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, great-great-great grandmother, aunt to a host of nieces and nephews, and friend.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Burial: Lone Star Cemetery.
