Dylan James Carpenter, son of David and Rhiannon “Annie” Marie (Gieck) Carpenter, was born on July 14, 1995 in Lebanon, Missouri, and passed away on December 9, 2013 near Seymour, Missouri, following a logging accident at 18 years of age.
Dylan grew up in Wright County and attended Norwood High School. He enjoyed bull riding, hunting, four-wheeling, mudding and fishing. He was known as a “jack-of-all trades” who enjoyed the outdoors and working.
At the time of his passing, he was employed by the Dirk White Logging Company in Willow Springs, Missouri.
Dylan was a great person who was fun to be around and he had many friends. He was known as being kind hearted and having a generous spirit.
He loved his family and enjoyed visiting and spending time with them. He also loved his fiance’, C.J., very much and was looking forward to their upcoming wedding and raising their infant son, Dusty.
Dylan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Karen Estelle Massey in 2010; and by his paternal grandfather: John Andrew Carpenter.
He is survived by his fiance’: Cierra Jane “C.J.” Rector, and their son, Dusty James Carpenter, of Norwood, Missouri; his father: David Carpenter of Springfield, Missouri; his mother: Annie Massey-Carpenter; his two sisters: Ashley Lynn and Karley Earline Carpenter, all of Norwood, Missouri; his paternal grandmother: Darla Carpenter; his maternal great-grandmother: Earline Metheny; his maternal grandfathers: Dennis Gieck and Darrell Massey; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
