Dwight C. Tate

January 16, 1942 — June 23, 2014

Dwight Charles Tate, son of the late W.C. Charley and Thelma B. (Oliphant) Tate, was born January 16, 1942, in Bendavis, Missouri, and passed away peacefully June 23, 2014 at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri, with his loving wife at his side.
Dwight attended school and graduated with the Mtn. Grove High School Class of 1959. He was united in marriage to Linda Ann Gordon on March 3, 1961 in Avon, Indiana. Four children were born to this union.
Dwight spent his adult life in construction and this took him to Indiana and his beloved Arizona. Later in life, he moved back to Mountain Grove, where he loved attending auctions and garage sales where he would find furniture to refinish. Dwight was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Dwight was preceded in death by his son: Dwight Charles Tate, II; and a daughter: Laura Allyson (Tate) Wells.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years: Linda Ann Tate; two daughters: Kimberly Ann (Tate) Curtis, and husband, Merrill Allen and Lisa Marie South; one daughter-in-law: Paula Diane Tate; one son-in-law: Eric Brian Wells; ten grandchildren: Danielle, Cheryl, Jennifer, Dwight III, Bill, Zachary, Holly, Bradley, Jared, and Eric; nine great-grandchildren: Andrew, Prestigious, Autumn, Isaac, Trace, Srae, and Kimberly; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
