Dorothy Mae Millard

Dorothy Mae Millard, daughter of the late Thomas Jeff Arthur and Leona (Miracle) Glenn, was born on October 13, 1919 in Adel, Iowa and passed away on August 7, 2014 in Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri at 94 years of age.

Dorothy was raised in Adel. She married Orville Millard on June 20, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa. Two daughters blessed this union. They lived in Iowa for several years but had made their home in the Mountain Grove area for the past 26 years.

Dorothy was a self-educated person and had a quick wit and good sense of humor. She enjoyed poetry of all kinds. She loved her pets and keeping up with her friends through letter writing and phone calls. Dorothy had a great love of serving the Lord and was looking forward to His coming. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Orville, in 2007; four brothers: Harold, Marion Bud, Robert, and Dean Glenn; and one sister: Mary Brundage.

She is survived by two daughters: Marilyn Sornson and her husband, Jon, and Shirley K. Netherda, all of Mountain Grove; three grandchildren: Sherrie Smartt, Scott Sornson, and Matthew Nordloh; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other friends and family.
