Dorothy Lucille Schober, daughter of the late Holly and Florence (Collins) Robinson, was born October 29, 1930, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and passed away March 17, 2020, at Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, Missouri. She was 89 years, 4 months, and 19 days of age.
Dot grew up near Indianapolis. She married Richard Schober on June 11, 1949. Four sons were born to this union. They made their home on a small Indiana farm for many years while Richard worked for the Farm Bureau Coop before moving to Mountain Grove, Missouri, in 1978. Dot was a homemaker and loved being with and taking care of her family. She greatly enjoyed her grandchildren.
Dot was well known as the “Pie Lady” and made many pies for Plummer’s Junction. She was also an excellent cook.
Besides her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Schober, on November 13, 2003, and by a son, James P. Schober, Sr. on November 2, 1991, a brother, Jack Robinson, and a sister, Deloris (Robinson) Mink, and many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by three sons, Don Schober and his wife, Susie, and Joe Schober and his wife, Cindy, all of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Carl Schober and his wife, Laura, of Springfield, Missouri, one brother, Jim Robinson and his wife, Tippy, of West Virginia, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.

Following the guidelines of our Wright County health officials, we will be implementing a 50 person limit in our chapel during the visitation. Our staff will be monitoring the crowds to maintain this limit. Please be patient with us as we navigate these new guidelines. Dorothy will be out for viewing after 11:00 AM on Friday for guests who wish to come by early to sign the register book and pick up a memorial folder.
