Dorlis Bee (Carter) Turner, daughter of the late Elbridge and Marie (Long) Carter, was born September 11, 1935, in Wright County, Missouri, and departed this life April 26, 2018, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri. She was 82 years, 7 months, and 14 days of age.
She married Loyd Shaw on June 15, 1951, in Salem, Arkansas. Three children were born to this union.
Bee worked for Brown Shoe Company in Mountain Grove for many years. She loved being with family and would always put their needs ahead of her own. It brought her great joy to help take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved to take trips with her siblings. In her spare time, she would work puzzles of many kinds.
Besides her parents, Bee was preceded in death by one infant son, Gary Shaw, and by one sister, Doris Reed.
She is survived by one son, Larry Shaw of Halfway, Missouri, one daughter, Carolyn Mitchell and her husband, Dennis, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, two brothers, Gene Carter and his wife, Gail, and Junior Carter and his wife, Joan, one sister, Betty Watson and her husband, Charles, all of Mountain Grove, Missouri, six grandchildren, Larry Shaw, Jr., Gary Shaw, Dameon Shaw, Denver Mitchell, April Shaw, and Stuart Mitchell, twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
