Doris “Louvene” Wolthuis, daughter of George and Ethel (Bookout) Townlian was born on June 27, 1935, near Sarvis Point, Missouri. She passed away on December 13, 2022, in Seymour, Missouri.
Louvene married George E. Wolthuis and to this union two daughters (a generation apart) were born, Patricia, and Letha.
She was Louvene to all who knew her. Her passion was always cooking. She never wanted anyone that came near her table to leave hungry, we lovingly called her a “force feeder”! Louvene especially loved her family, the farm, and babysitting little ones. She was a strong, resilient, and loving woman who fought cancer for 27 years.
Louvene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Glen Townlian, sisters, Marie Denney, Hazel Longwith, Helen Scheretz, Maxine Pogue, and Eunice Cantrell.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia “Pat” Kauth and her husband, David, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Letha Cole and her husband, James “Jim”, of Seymour, Missouri, four grandchildren, Christy St. Clair, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Karen Williams and her husband, Aaron, Dana Merrill and her husband, Dustin, of Eureka, Missouri, and James Manar of Santa Barbara, California, five great-grandchildren, a brother, Gary Townlian, sisters, Yvonne Pogue of Sparta, Missouri, Wilma Smith of Wichita, Kansas, and Linda Barnett, of Marshfield, Missouri, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
