Donnie Ray Saladin, son of the late Adolph and Iva (Tate) Saladin, was born on November 7, 1937 in Norwood, Missouri and departed this life on Friday, September 25, 2009 after a short illness. Donnie was 71 years, 10 months, and 18 days of age.
Donnie grew up in the Norwood area. He joined the army and served his country from 1958 until 1961. Donnie married Barbara Bradshaw on June 30, 1961 in Mansfield, Missouri. Two children were born to this union.
Donnie worked for Tobin Hamilton Shoe Factory, Hutchens Industries, and the Wright County Road District. He also worked various farm jobs throughout the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, planting trees, and gardening. He loved to go sight-seeing and was very fond of the fall season each year.
Donnie attended the Church of God in Mtn. Grove as a child. He accepted the Lord as his personal Savior as a young man. He attended the Norwood Assembly of God as long as health permitted.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Chalmer and Delmar.
He is survived by his loving wife of their home: Barbara; two sons: Lorne Saladin and his wife, Tina, and David Saladin, all of Norwood; one brother: Herbert Saladin of Palm Coast, Florida; two sisters: Jeanette Davis and husband D.R. of Tallahassee, Florida and Lola Quessenberry and her husband, Sam, of Macomb, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Tyler, Lorissa, David Jr., Kimberly, Carissa, Shaylin, C.J., and Michael; one great-grandchild: Hunner; two nephews and two nieces; and many other family, neighbors, and friends who will dearly miss him.
