Donna Faye (Williams) Woodward-Lofton was born on October 28, 1940, in a little house on Scott Street in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She departed this life on August 17, 2023, at Glenwood Heritage in Seymour, Missouri. She was 82 years old.
Donna spent most of her life in the Mountain Grove area. She lived in Iowa for a short time as a child until her family moved back to Mountain Grove when she was seven. She graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1959. Donna married Robert Woodward in 1960 and had 3 daughters, Brenda, Sherri, and Susan. She met and married the love of her life, Eddie Lofton, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, in 1971. The family moved back to Mountain Grove in 1977 where she lived for the rest of her life.
She worked at Mack’s Small Appliance from 1981 to 2002 as a small appliance mechanic. In 2002, Donna became the cook at the Mountain Grove Christian Academy. She greatly enjoyed feeding the children and took pride in making them home cooked lunches. She retired in 2009.
She went to the Mountain Grove First Assembly of God church most of her life. Donna loved the Lord and her family is Blessed in the knowledge she is now in her heavenly home.
Donna loved animals and would rescue any animal that was wounded or hungry. She was a natural care giver and she enjoyed taking care of her animals, which included the wild birds in her neighborhood.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Alton and Mattie (Clemons) Williams, her husband, Eddie Lofton, her sister, Eula Byerly, and one grandson, Christopher King.
She is survived by her three daughters and their families, Brenda and Peter Cameron, Sherri Woodward, and Susan Woodward, her grandchildren, Jason and Angie Cameron, Eric King, Phillip and Shaley King, Sophia Cameron and Julian Cameron, Jordan and Nicky Woodward, and Addison and Nicholas Wilson, her great-grandchildren, Liliana, Evelyne, and Cecilia Cameron, Tre Peck and Jaxson Woodward.
Donna’s daughters would like to honor her memory by starting a non-profit organization called Granny’s Kritters that will help the City of Mountain Grove with pet overpopulation and helping lost pets find their way home by starting a feral cat program and microchipping clinics. We ask that in lieu of flowers you make a memorial donation to Granny’s Kritters, 206 E 1st St, Mtn Grove, MO 65711.
