Donna Joan Carter

Donna Joan (Andrews) Carter was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on January 8, 1955 to Donald Gene and JoAnne (Baumgartner) Andrews.

Donna spent many years oversees in England and Germany as her father served in the US Air Force, then stateside, she built her career in hotel management in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Upon early retirement, Donna moved with her mother back to Mountain Grove in 1996. She loved her neighbors and the townsfolk of Mountain Grove. She really loved the charm of this community.

Donnas hobbies included playing with her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; especially spending time at the local creek in the summer with all the kids. She was known for being the go to Aunt, and loved to tease the kiddos.

Donna passed away April 8, 2015 and even though unexpectedly, she knew one day she would be with the Lord. During her last days, many of their neighbors were instrumental in her care, especially friend and neighbor, Sharon Hopkins.

She was proceeded in death by her father: Donald Andrews; her grand-daughter: Destiny Martin; and her grandson: Devonte Martin.

Donna is survived by her mother: JoAnne Andrews of Mountain Grove; one son: Thomas Andrews and wife, Maria, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one daughter: DonNetra Andrews of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers: Steve Andrews and wife, Tanya, of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Mike Andrews and Shelbie Hulsey of Claremore, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Myanisha, Thomas, Jr., and Savion Andrews of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Thomas Andrews of Cincinnati, Ohio; and great-granddaughter: Tiara Andrews of Albuquerque, New Mexico. A favored Aunt, she had 7 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews.

Full of life and sass, Donna will be missed by all who knew her.


Memorial Visitation: Friday, April 10, 2015 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Burial: Lone Star Cemetery - at a later date
