Donna grew up in the Seymour area and graduated from Seymour High School. She was united in marriage to Johnnie Lee Carpenter on June 23, 1972. To this union one son, Jonathan, was born. He was her pride and joy.
Donna sold Avon for a time in the community, but mostly she was a homemaker taking care of her family. She loved her family and loved spending time with them. Donna and her family loved to travel and went on many family trips. They had great times vacationing in Florida, Tennessee and St. Louis, and going to the horse races in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They also enjoyed going to the movies almost every week. Donna enjoyed spending time with her mom, dad and siblings, especially on Sundays.
Donna was saved at Lone Star Church and enjoyed attending church in her earlier years. She loved playing the piano, reading the “Little House” books, and watching the TV show “Little House on the Prairie”.
Besides her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leroy and Jean Carpenter, and sister-in-law, Jeanette Carpenter.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan, of the home in Fordland, Missouri, one brother, Chris Simmons and his wife, Cara, of Marshfield, Missouri, two sisters, Debbie Kastning and her husband, Bob, of Seymour, Missouri, and Tresa Coday and her husband, Dennis, of Diggins, Missouri, and other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
Donna was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and aunt. She made a heart-full of memories and happy times that will be treasured by her family forever.
