Donna Bell Shannon

Donna Bell Shannon, daughter of the late Lee Roy and Mary Ruth (Tucker) Coffman, was born on August 16, 1937 in Liberal, Kansas and departed this life on Tuesday, August 5, 2009 at her residence in Nevada, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 71 years, 11 months and 20 days of age.
Donna grew up and attended school in Modesto, California. She was united in marriage to Wallace Shannon on June 25, 1953 in Salida, California. Seven children were born to this union. She and Wallace moved to the Mtn. Grove area in 1964. They had made their home in the Nevada area for the past eight years.
Donna was employed by the Brown Shoe Company in Mtn. Grove for eighteen years. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting and spending time with her family.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
While living in Mtn. Grove she was a member of the Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending services as long as her health permitted.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister: Mary Lee Suza.
She is survived by her husband: Wallace Shannon of their home; four sons: James Shannon and his wife, Alisha, of Lebanon, Missouri, Jerry Shannon and his wife, Nadine, of Pleasanton, Kansas, Ronald Shannon and his wife, Sherry, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, and Mike Shannon of Nixa, Missouri; three daughters: Cynthia Hodges and her husband, Ron, of Muskegon, Michigan, Mary Parrish and her husband, Richard, of Nevada, Missouri, and Tena Bailey and her husband, Herbie, of Pikeville, Kentucky; three sisters: May Logston of Riverbank, California, Helen Toggle of East St. Louis, Illinois, and Alma Lou Gearhart and her husband, Chuck, of Sacremento, California; a half-brother: Novie Coffman; twenty-eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral Services:
Saturday, August 8th at 10:00 AM in the Cornerstone FWB Church.
Visitation:
Friday, August 7, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.

Lone Star Cemetery
