Donald Theodore Wright

September 8, 1953 — May 26, 2022

Donald Theodore Wright was born on September 8, 1953, in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Harry T. and Dorothy F. (Staten) Wright. He departed this life on May 26, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 68 years of age.

He was united in marriage to Wilma Sue Dake on September 26, 1970, in Springtown, Arkansas. One son was born to this union. He made his home on PP highway, south of Norwood, Missouri, for 38 years.

Don loved to go fishing and camping with his family and friends. He loved using strawberry Kool-Aid soaked chicken breast for his bait. He made everyone laugh with his family stories and jokes, and he was such a loving and caring person. He always made everyone feel safe when he was around. If you ever needed anything and he had it, then you had it. He loved picking on and spending time with his grandkids and his nieces and nephews. Don loved his family very much! He loved going to family outings at his niece, Peggy’s house with all the family. He loved to pick on and give wet willies to his nieces and nephews. He loved to make you smile with all his funny sayings that made him who he was. Don sure did leave us with tons and tons of great memories. Anyone that knew Don knew his favorite attire was a plaid, sleeveless, button up shirt worn open, a pair of jeans and slides. He will be greatly missed by all.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Sue Wright, siblings, George, Lois, and Sharon, and great-nephew, Robbie.

Donald is survived by his son, Chris Wright (Brandi) of Norwood, Missouri, brothers Wilbur Wright (Cheryl) of Arkansas, and Jimmy Wright, sister, Shannon Wright (Joey) of Arkansas, four grandchildren Michael Wright of Norwood, Missouri, Tanner Paterson of Norwood, Missouri, Ravin Paterson of Ozark, Missouri, and Brooke Paterson of Norwood, Missouri, cousin, Bob Wright (Kathy) of Mountain Grove, Missouri, nieces and nephews, Jaime Taylor (Ray) of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Jessie Sovern of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Peggy Adams (Robert) of Grovespring, Missouri, and Rebecca Dake (Jeff) of Mountain Grove, Missouri, great-niece and great-nephews, Ashley Dake of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Bobby Adams of Grovespring, Missouri, Aaron Hicks of Grovespring, Missouri, Mark Adams of Grovespring, Missouri, and Gerald Wright of Mountain Grove, Missouri.
