Dennis Wally Hopper

Dennis Wally Hopper was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Bakersfield California, to James G. Hopper and Erma (Cooley) Hopper. He went to Heaven to be with Jesus on September 26, 2016, in his home at Republic, Missouri, with family by his side. Dennis was 82 years and 8 days of age.

He was married to Roberta Anderson in 1955 and to this union three children were born: Wally Brian, Julie Diane, and Kelly Marie. He served his country and was a proud Marine during the Korean War.

After Robertas death in 1979, he married Donna Lacey of Republic and they were married 36 years and 11 months.

Besides his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his wife: Roberta; and his sisters: Ricki Gaddis and Maryland Gerald.

He is survived by his wife: Donna; his son: Brian and his wife, Janet, two daughters: Julie Dake and her husband, Ernie, and Kelly Mann; two step-sons: Fred Lacey and his wife, Carolyn, and Greg Lacey and his wife, Diane, one step-daughter: Kim Wolken and her husband, Alan; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; one brother: James and his wife, Sharon; two sisters: Cheryl Womack and her husband, Don, and Michele Lietch and her husband, Kenny; and many nieces and nephews and friends. We will miss his love and great sense of humor.


Visitation: Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, Republic, Missouri.

Memorial Service: Friday, September 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Denlow Church, South of Mountain Grove.

Burial: Denlow Cemetery, following the service, with full military honors.
