Dena Lynn (Smallwood) Anderson, the youngest child of Falus and Mava (Brown) Smallwood, was born on March 6, 1958 in Bellflower, California, and departed this life on Monday, May 31, 2010 at her residence in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. She was 52 years, 2 months and 25 days of age.
Dena grew up and attended school in the Cabool area. She was a very creative person who enjoyed making crafts, purses, and quilts to give to those around her. She loved life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her dog, “Bo.”
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family very much and enjoyed visiting with her many friends. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Falus and Mava Smallwood; and an infant daughter: Amie Plummer.
She is survived by her son: Marty Anderson of Springfield, Missouri; her daughter and son-in-law: Christina and Dannie Mahurin of Mtn. Grove; three grandchildren: Chaseton, Devin and Shiana; one brother: Jim Smallwood and his wife, Diana, of Cabool, Missouri; two sisters: Betty Golden and her husband, Jimmy, of Fountain Hills, Arizona, and Brenda Barnes and her husband, Bill, of Palm Desert, California; four nephews; three nieces; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services:
Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 10 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home Chapel.
No Formal Visitation
Friends may call between 8 AM and 6 PM on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in the funeral home.
