Debra Joyce James

Debra Joyce James, daughter of Charles and Norma (Page) James, was born September 5, 1959, in Mansfield, Missouri, and departed this life on May 17, 2022, in Ava, Missouri, at the age of 62 years, 8 months, and 12 days.

She was united in marriage to Gene Kelly and to this union two children, Jennifer and Jeremy, were born.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Kelly, brothers, Joe, Jim, and Mack James.

Debra is survived by her parents, Charles and Norma James of Norwood, Missouri; daughter, Jennifer Kelly of Ozark, Missouri; grandchildren, Quinton Kelly and Quincy Kelly; brothers, Jesse James and wife, Dawn, of Tipton, Iowa, and Jerry James and wife, Sandy, of Fruitland, Iowa; sister, Colleena Whitely and husband, Rusty, of Ava, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Shanna Kelly, of Bolivar, Missouri; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was born in Mansfield and moved with her family to Iowa where she graduated from Muscatine High School in Muscatine, Iowa. She later moved with her sister to Florida where she lived for a few years. She moved to Norwood in 1994 and resided in rural Ava until her passing. She was a bookkeeper and accountant and was of the Baptist faith.

In her spare time, she liked working on cars, playing on the computer and loved her grandkids.

Debra was a loving person, and the many good times we had together will never be forgotten.
