David Wayne Nicholson

January 4, 1951 — July 19, 2007

David Wayne Nicholson, son of Thomas Hart and Barbara (Davis) Morrison, was born on January 4, 1951 in Tulare, California, and departed this life on July 19, 2007 in the St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 56 years, 6 months, and 15 days of age.
David grew up and attended school in Portersville, California. He served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant on June 15, 1973. He moved with his family to Missouri three years ago and had moved to Mtn. Grove where he lived for a short time.
Before being disabled, he was a concrete finisher. He took great pride in his work and taught his family to do the same.
He was united in marriage to Darline Rogers on April 28, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada. David enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was sitting on his front porch every morning or sitting on any river bank fishing. It didn’t matter if he caught any fish, he just enjoyed his surroundings. He also liked to play pool and visit with his many friends.
David was a loving and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Morrison.
He is survived by his loving wife: Darline Nicholson of their home; two sons: David Nicholson of Mtn. Grove and Dillon Nicholson of Reed Springs, Wyoming; four daughters: Brandice Nicholson of Bakersfield, California, Karen Padilla, Shanea Nicholson and Jamie Sears, all of Mtn. Grove; his father and step-mother: Thomas and Donna Morrison; one sister: Peggy Morgan of Portersville, California; ten grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
