With heavy hearts, we remember David Lansdown, a wonderful son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who had a heart as wide as the rivers and streams he loved to fish.
David passed away on November 2, 2023, surrounded by his family, at the age of 64.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son (Dustin Lansdown), but leaves behind a legacy of love and joy that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew him.
David is survived by his daughter (Crystal Lansdown) and sons (Nicholas Lansdown, Lee Liles, Richard Liles, BJ Smith, and Hank Smith), who will continue to carry his memory with great pride. He also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren and a great grandchild, of whom brought him endless joy.
Fishing was more than a hobby for David; it was his source of joy and was the place where he was most happy. Whether he was casting his line in a river, stream, pond or even a swamp, he did it with a beaming smile on his face and would always share stories of the “big” ones that got away. His passion for fishing was undeniable. Now, he casts his lines in heaven and will have stories to tell when we make it to him.
Apart from his endless storytelling, David's love and eagerness to assist others revealed the immense size of his heart and character. He possessed an extraordinary talent for bringing joy wherever he ventured. His laughter was infectious, and he claims to have never met a stranger.
David Lansdown will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He brought happiness and warmth to countless lives, and his legacy of love and laughter will be cherished for generations to come. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, and while it is truly a difficult task, lets focus on the man he was, the joyous times he brought, and honor his memory by keeping him in our minds and continuing to spread the same joy to others.
Rest in peace, Dad, as you embark on your final journey; just know that your love and laughter will forever echo in our hearts. You will be missed.
